Backed by a 15-year expertise in daily meal plan service, one-year-old RCK is targeting global expansion with the usd 5M funding it expects from the series A investment tour to start by 2023, says Didem.

Tulgan also says that they plan to give a franchise for these new concepts next year. We aim to receive an investment of 5 million dollars in the series A investment round next year. We have a turnover target of 10 million dollars before this investment.

RCK (Rafinera Cloud Kitchen) is working on cloud kitchen both on the creation of new brands and on the R&Dec side. Rafinera is the first diet takeaway service company in Turkey and the second in Europe. Didem Altınbaşak Tulgan, who founded Rafinera Cloud Kitchen with more than 15 years of experience in this sector, holds 16 registered brands that appeal to different target audiences.

Rafinera is a nutrition plan service that has been going on as a dark kitchen for 15 years. Rafinera, which dominates 70% of the Turkish market in the nutrition plan service sector, is a service that delivers calorie-Sundays fresh food and freshly squeezed fruit and vegetable juices (Juice) to the door of its members every morning.

Rafinera has received an investment from Credia Ventures with its new formation Rafinera Cloud Kitchen (RCK). The amount of the investment was not disclosed, but it was stated that the post-investment valuation of Rafinera Cloud Kitchen is approaching 200 million TL.

Noting that they have invested in the food-tech concept that combines technology and food, Tulgan said, “Our goal is to reach more than 200 virtual restaurants with our 24 brands by the end of the year and Decommission our own sales platform. After completing our Istanbul penetration, we plan to expand abroad,” he said.

The example of RCK is important in terms of digitalization because it creates a reflection of cloud and Internet of things (IoT) technologies in a different and tasteful area. Controlling taste and quality with a centrally controlled production system is an important example of process management on the product side.

RCK reaches to its consumers through the virtual restaurants it has created in these satellite kitchens. Virtual restaurants do not have seating areas, tables and waiters. There is a shared kitchen where only the food ise prepared and packages.

Thanks to the fact that satellite kitchens serve many RCK brands at the same time and that couriers are used jointly, expenses are divided and cost advantage is provided. This provides the opportunity to deliver hight quality food at more affordable prices.

Didem Altınbaşak Tulgan, CEO of Rafinera Cloud Kitchen, said, "Thanks to this new system, we are able to centrally control many parameters that will affect customer satisfaction and offer impeccable service quality. In addition to the cost advantage, we do not compromise on quality and taste. Our goal is to create brands that rank in the top three in the rankings in the regions where we sell," he said.

RCK, one of the first applications of the cloud kitchen system in Turkey, continues to grow with its registered 13 brands. The company aims to expand nationwide and strengthen its technological infrastructure with the investment it has received.
